UV Light in the winter months…

The higher the elevation….

…..the higher the UV radiation!

Don’t forget to pack your natural sunscreen, specially for those little noses and ears. Wear a sun hat and  a helmet for skiing and sledding to protect your head all the way around!

Did you know that….

In higher altitudes, a thinner atmosphere absorbs less UV radiation. The Ozone layer absorbs some of  it.   Snow has the same ground reflection effect as sand or concrete, BUT Snow reflects the sun up to 8O%! (source: the World Health Organization WHO)

To learn more about the different UV Radiation levels and to check out the UV index in your area click on the link highlighted.

Most important of all, enjoy the wonderful snow season, there is nothing more fun than skiing and sledding! make sure your kids enjoy the wonderful “snow white” & “snow men”.
